How to begin

  • Observe a class – We encourage prospective students to visit during any of our regularly scheduled classes. You can visit to watch or to try out a class without any commitment.  Contacting us ahead of time is appreciated.
  • What to bring – Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes early. We provide all required equipment for new students and visitors. The only thing new students need to do is wear suitable athletic attire, such as a t-shirt and jogging pants (avoid shorts, overly tight tops, etc.).
  • Costs to train – There is no cost to try a class. Students who want to join the dojo should speak with an instructor for details.
  • Membership – Students who continue with us will need to apply for membership in the International Shinkendo Federation (ISF). Membership in the ISF provides access to ongoing world-class instruction, available at the dojo and at any ISF seminar.
